Victoria Falls Safari Lodge - Rates from USD 144

In 1855, a Scottish missionary, David Livingstone, is thought to have been the first European to see the Falls. Livingstone was so moved by the beauty of the natural spectacle that he enthusiastically uttered “On sights as beautiful as this, angels in their flight must have gazed,” and promptly named them after his Queen. Livingstone’s ‘discovery’ and visit would bring celebrity to the Falls and ensure a regular supply of hunters traders and missionaries passing through during the latter half of the century. Suddenly Victoria Falls became - and would remain – an important conduit for business.

About Us

About Africa Albida Tourism
Africa Albida Tourism ( AAT ) is a Southern African tourism operator with hotels and lodges, restaurants and parks in the region’s foremost tourist destinations with Victoria Falls as the hub. Its operations are characterized by their prime locations, and an untiring quest for quality in every aspect of product delivery.

The parent brand of the well-established Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, AAT was launched in May 2008, following a strategic decision to re-brand to reflect its growth and geographic spread. It runs from its Head Office in suburban Greystone Park, Harare, Zimbabwe. It operates three divisions, namely Hospitality, Restaurants and Parks.

Philosophy
Africa Albida Tourism is underpinned by principles of utmost respect for the communities and environments in which it operates, and fostering a spirit of mutually beneficial partnership with all stakeholders. It aims to create opportunities to sustainably utilize natural resources, create employment and enhance living standards, to share our passion for Africa’s treasures; culture, wildlife and its immense physical beauty.

Africa Albida Tourism values are founded on:
-  Prosperity and benefit for all stakeholders.
-  Conservation and enhancement of natural resources.
-  Integrity and professionalism in all dealings.
-  Product and service excellence.

Africa Albida takes its name from the sturdy-rooted Acacia Albida tree; widespread in semi-arid Africa and revered in most parts of the continent.. The group’s hand-sketched tree logo in flaming colours represents stability, nurturing, prosperity and, above all, AAT’s ethic of being a fair, principled and responsible player in its physical, social and business spheres of influence. The colours are reminiscent of brilliant sunsets in the Zambezi Valley where this tree flourishes, with the sketchy artwork suggesting an approach respectful of every venture’s individuality.

"The (mutsangu/umtungabayeni) is a symbol of woman, and without woman, there is no life. It does not die because it is a symbol of our eternity." African elder, on the significance of the Acacia Albida Tree.

Widespread in semi-arid Africa, the Acacia Albida, or Faidherbia Albida commonly known as the Apple-Ring Acacia, is found on a wide range of soils and in different climates. It is known and revered for its multiple uses as a human and wildlife food source, with a multiplicity of other uses. It is a large, deciduous tree, often dominating its landscape with its imposing height and rounded crown, and is considered sacred in parts of Africa for its life-supporting and enriching characteristics.
