Children - Special Family Weekend
Children are welcome at Nehimba and we have a special family lodge which can accommodate a family of 6 people comfortably.
Imagine your children seeing wild animals roaming freely in the African wilderness for the first time! Please ask about our special family weekends where special activities introduce children to the magic of the African bush. Children can enjoy special wildlife adventures such as nature hunts, safari quizzes, spoor identification, bug catching, bird watching, fishing, wildlife videos and many more. We will try and accommodate one family per vehicle on game drives. However if this is not possible we do ask that parents encourage their children to be quiet to as not to disturb the animals and detract from other guests game viewing enjoyment. A special children's menu is available and meals can be arranged earlier if required.

Tailormade Game Viewing
Nehimba is situated on its own private wildlife estate. There are no restricting fences and animals wander freely offering unique game viewing opportunities.
No two days are the same at Nehimba and game viewing experiences are tailor-made to our guests preferences, including game drives, walking safaris and night game drives in search of nocturnal species of game. Game drives are conducted with expert safari guides in specially modified open four-wheel drive safari vehicles. What could be better than exploring the African bush and watching wildlife as the dawn is just beginning to break or marvelling at an African sunset whilst enjoying sundowners at a waterhole.

Walking Safari
Be at one with nature on a walking safari and enjoy the thrill of approaching wildlife on foot and learn about the surrounding vegetation and ecology. Game walks are led by an armed professional guide and can replace a game drive or be incorporated as part of a drive.

Spotlights are used on night game drives to introduce you to nocturnal species of game such as hyena, jackal, porcupine, genet, civet and if you are lucky, perhaps even a leopard or lion hunt!

High / Low Seasons CLIMATE
Zimbabwe enjoys a lovely sunny climate and a hat and sunscreen are recommended when outdoors, especially during the heat of the day.

The two distinct seasons are the dry winter season from May to September. Winters are mild with warm, sunny days but can drop to below freezing at night. During these dry months the game viewing is prolific as the bush is less dense and wildlife concentrate at the waterholes in search of water.

The rainy season is from November to April and birdlife is most spectacular at this time. The area has a relatively low average rainfall and temperatures range from 18-28°C. The hottest month of the year is October where temperatures can reach up to 38°C.
