Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls

Where to stay: Ilala Lodge , Sprayview Hotel , Gorges Lodge and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

One of the world's most spectacular waterfalls, with Zambezi River crashing 100 meters down into a chasm, with an edge stretching 1,8 km in length. Niagara Falls is like a small brother in this context. Victoria Falls is not only a natural wonder and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Africa, it is also one of the more popular places where honeymooners, and kamikaze pilots are looking for all sorts of challenges. The white water rafting is one of the best in the world. And bungee jump with a drop of 111 meters is one of the highest bungee jumps in the world. Not to forget the sunset during the evenings with a view over the falls. Wildlife is always present and you can easily bump into a buffalo or an Elephant on their way to the river. Zambezi River is populated with hippos and crocodiles, the latter you might also meet on the golf course. There are plenty of high standard hotels and lodges on both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of the river. The river itself forms the border between Zambia in north and Zimbabwe in the south. Dr. David Livingstone came to this place in 1855 and set his signatory on a Baobab tree. When he saw the falls he also  expressed " Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight ". A common experience among many travelers, is that they stayed to short time ( min. of 4-6 days is recommended ). Culture events, adventure, traditional food, traditional carvings, music played on calabash, walking with the lions or riding an elephant are just a few of the thrilling things to experience.
