West Lunga National Park

West Lunga National Park
Welcome to the untouched nature of the Kabompo River adjacent to West Lunga National Park. This haven of tranquillity is ideal for relaxing, fishing, bird and game viewing. The West Lunga National Park is the only Park in Zambia covered by forest, allowing some unique adventures while discovering the wildlife. Amongst birders the Park is famous for the controversy surrounding the white-chested tinkerbird. One specimen of this endemic bird species was found in 1964 and since then numerous attempts to find another have been unsuccessful.
